The New QIP Clinical Measure for Depression Screening & Follow Up
Summer 2024 (1 CEU)
Jointly presented with CNSW of Kansas & Western Missouri, this 1-hour virtual education session was delivered by Tom Lepetich, MSW, LCSW, Lifetime Achievement Award Winner.
It had three objectives:

State the purpose of Depression Screening in the CMS Quality Incentive Program for CY2024

Explain how to implement the policy in your dialysis clinic

Identify treatment plans for the signs and symptoms of depression

Summer 2023 (5 CEUs)
This 5-hour virtual education session included 3 separate presentations and multiple speakers.
Topic 1 was delivered by Dorian (Dori) Schatell, MS, the Executive Director of the non-profit Medical Education Institute (MEI).
Topic 2 was delivered by Lisa Hall, MSSW, LICSW and Robert (Bob) Crabtree. Lisa has been the Patient Services Director for Comagine Health ESRD Network 16 since 2010, and Bob is the Executive Director of the patient mentor group The Road Back to Life.
Topic 3 was delivered by Stephanie Steinberg, MSW, LCSW. Stephanie has worked in the field of nephrology social work for nearly 40 years and is best remembered for her work in helping CNSW to create an outcomes-driven model of practice for the field and negotiating the reduction of lesser skilled tasks for the nephrology social worker to focus more on clinical intervention and rehabilitation.

Confidentiality, Lethality, and Telehealth: What Behavioral Health Clinicians Need to Know
Winter 2023 (3 Ethics CEUs)
This 3-hour virtual education session was delivered by Eric Strom, JD, PhD, LMHC, who currently provides professional services at Strom Consulting in Seattle, WA.
It had three objectives:

Identify legal standards relating to client/patient confidentiality AND compare and contrast various state obligations with regard to client lethality

Identify how the telehealth environment impacts liability for client lethality

Formulate strategies to balance protection of client confidentiality with protection against harm
